Combinations of interdependent valves. - A control valve f o r hydraulic or electrohydraulic presses of the type described in Specification 24,784/09, [Class 69 (ii), Hydraulic presses &c.], comprises valve members connected with a common stem, one or more of which are conical, and adapted to be closed by the pressure water, while at least one other valve is in the form of a piston valve which does not come under the influence of the high pressure liquid. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 3, a piston valve J is mounted on a stem K on which is also formed the double-sided beat or lift valve G, H beyond which is a tubular guide carrying a seating for a conical lift valve F. When the control valve is moved by its hand operating-lever to its lowest position, as shown, the pipes A, B and C, D are connected, and when the valve is raised, the pipes A, C are connected, as also are the pipes B, D owing to the opening of the valve F by striking against an abutment as it rises with the other valves. In each case the valve G or H is held on its seating by the pressure liquid
