Abstract

174,839. Johnson, A. L., and Johnson, Clapham, & Morris, Ltd., R. Dec. 22, 1920. Wheels with non-supporting casings enclosing spokes.-Discs 3 for covering the spokes of a wheel, represented diagrammatically at 2, are secured to a cap 5 which slides over the axle cap 4 and is adjustably secured by a central set screw 10 engaging a tapped hole in the axle cap. The head of the set-screw and the cap 5 are provided with interlocking means to prevent the screw working loose by vibration. The means described consist of radial projections on the cap and corresponding recesses in the screw head. The outer edge of the disc has notches to accommodate the bolts on the wheel rim.
