Pneumatic.-Relates to guns of the kind having the barrel and body hinged at a point in or near the plane containing the abutting faces of the barrel and body, the body having on its upper side a laterally-moving thumb-lever engaging a projection or the barrel and moved into the locking position by a spring mounted in a recess in the lever. According to the invention, (a) the lever or the stop, or both, are chamfered or rounded so that when the gun is closed the catch snaps into engagement, and (b) the spring, which is a leaf spring, is mounted between bifurcations on the rear of the lever. In the construction shown, the hooked lever 4 has a rounded part 16 at the front and the stop 8 is chamfered at the rear. The leaf spring 11 is fixed by a rivet between bifurcations at the rear of the lever.
