Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.- A fuel nozzle projecting into the transfer passages of a two-strokecycle engine is fed from a fuel receptacle a from which fuel is drawn past the valves f<1>, f<2> during the upstroke of the piston. At the end of the down-stroke, when the transfer port is opened, the air being com. pressed enters the hole a<1> in the nozzle a and induces from the nozzle b fuel which impinges upon the end of the nozzle a and mixes with the escaping air. Air which has entered the chamber f in escaping serves to carry fuel with it.
