Abstract
162,128. Zweigbergk, T. Feb. 13, 1920. Magnetic blowouts.-Consists in the following detail improvements in mag netic blow-outs of the kind in which the arc is caused tc ,encircle a sleeve-like shield surrounding a magnet. (1) A number of windings c sectionally disposed along a common core b are connected ir parallel, their inner ends being secured to the core b in the manner shown in Fig. 2, and their outer ends to a strip conductor f. The core band the conductor are respectively connected to terminals j, k. (2) The arc-separating flanges p are formed with removable facings q. (3) The shielding sleeves e are formed in two semicylindrical halves hinged together at r, Fig. 2, and screwed together at the opposite edges s. When thus fitted the sleeves hold the flange-sealings in place and both are readily removable.
