Generating by electricity.-The lower portion 13 of a radiator is provided with a layer 17 of insulating material such as porcelain, lava, or mica which is heatancl d'amp - proof and in which is embedded a pair of electrodes 16 with their upper faces flush with, or slightly raised above, the layer 17. An inspection opening with a glass disc 21 and a filling opening with a cap 23 are provided. Water is introduced through the opening 14 and is vaporized by the passage of the current, the circuit being broken when all the water has been changed to steam. The quantity of water introduced is adjusted to give the required pressure of steam in the radiator for the desired heating effects.
