Heating by electricity.-In a steam boiler a or liquid heater wherein the electrodes e are disposed in a displacement body c of insulating material, the latter is enclosed in an auxiliary container b, preferably of iron, which permits water to pass therethrough. The insulating body is provided with vertical bores k for the passage of liquid, the bores being interrupted by bridges d integral with the insulating body. A boiler for use with three-phase current is described.
