161,779. Ditchburn, C. Feb. 21, 1920. Charge, purifying; cylinders, pipes for.-An auxiliary air valve fitted with an air filtering and priming device comprises a perforated tubular body 10 screwed into the induction pipe 13, a manually-actuated valve 14, a plate 22 having angular or spirallyarranged slots or apertures 23 to impart a whirling motion to the air, and rings 24, 25 which hold in position an annular filter 27 of cotton wool or the like surrounded by gauze 26, the ring 24 being dished and provided with holes 24<a> through which petrol may be introduced for priming.
