Lubricating; breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Consists in a lubricating-device operated by the trigger. In the construction shown, a pump plunger 32 is operated by a depending finger 31 on the searactuating link 24 each time the trigger is pulled and forces lubricant from a reservoir 38 along a duct 45 which communicates with ducts 48, 50 leading respectively to the locking surfaces of the breech-block and to the chamber. Portions of the ducts are formed as axial passages in the screws 17, 18 that secure the trigger plate. To ensure that the trigger is operated for each shot, the sear-actuating link is disengaged from the sear each time the breach opens by the projection 23 of the firing-pin engaging the inclined upper edge of the link.
