Abstract
161,128. Auto-Ordnance Corporation, (Assignees of Eickhoff, H. T.). June 29,1920, [Convention date]. Machine guns.-Relates to guns which are fired automatically when the breech closes by means of a hammer or firing-lever mounted on the breechblock with a projecting portion adapted to engage a fixed abutment as the breech-block reaches its forward position. According to the invention, the lever is pivoted at an intermediate point on the breech-block, with its projection extending into a longitudinal recess at the front of the breechblock, so that the lever does not extend trans. versely beyond the outline of the breech-block. In the construction shown, the lever 24, pivoted to the breech-block 16, 17, has a long arm 26 en. gaging the firing-pin 18, and a short arm 24 extending into the recess 31 and adapted to engage a fixed stop 30, so that just as the breech-block reaches the closing position the firing-pin is advanced.
