Vaporizers, external. - In carburetting - apparatus of the kind in which hot gases or vapours are mixed with air, the fuel inlet 2, the air pipe 1, and the mixing-chamber are surrounded by a jacket 3, through which water or other cooling fluid is circulated, the admission of air and fuel being controlled by valves 8, 9 'mounted on a common spindle 7 operated by the driver. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) air may be used as the cooling medium. Modifications are also described in which the cooling - jacket extends around the fuel passage only, and the air and fuel passages are branched to supply an engine having two groups of cylinders. In these modifications the control valves are omitted. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
