Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-Relates to a treble-bite bolting arrangement for drop-down guns having a top-lever bolt, which arrangement permits removal of the bolt-lever spring without stripping the gun, and avoids recessing of the wood stock to accommodate the spring. The bolt a is normally held in the position in which the barrel is locked by a spiral spring k engaging a recess in the bolt, and has a diametrical recess to engage a rib on the top lever b, and an eccentrically-arranged pin c for operating a double-bite bottom bolt e into or out of engagement with the barrel lumps f, g when the spindle is oscillated by the top lever, a tongue h on which engages the barrel extension i and provides a top bite.
