Reservoir pens.-In a safety fountain pen of the kind in which the nibs is projected and retracted by rotation of the head-piece through less than a complete turn, helical and longitudinal grooves being provided to engage a pin on the nib-bearing rod, this rotation is positvely limited, by means attached to the head-piece, to prevent torsional straining of the working parts. In one form, shown in Figs. 1 and 3, a pin g on the head-piece c engages a stop e<1> on a ring e fitted to the rear end b of the pen. In another form, shown in Fig. 5, a rocker piece i in a groove h in the headpiece c<1> moves with the head-piece, one or other end of the piece i engaging a recess j in the pen body b according to the direction of rotation of the head-piece. Separate recesses in the pen body may be provided for each end of the piece i. In a modification of this form, the recess in the pen bodv is situated beneath the rocker piece, the position of the latter when engaged by the former being shown in Fig. 9.
