Abstract

151,844. Cameron, D. Nov. 1, 1919. Reservoir pens. - In a self-filling fountain pen of the collapsiblesac type, the presserbar 4, anchored at one end to the nib section or to the barrel 3, is jointed to the operating- bar 6 by means of parallel-motion links 5. The operating-bar 6 is cranked near its outer end and is attached to the centre of a plug 9 screwing into the end of the barrel in such a way as to permit rotation of the plug without moving the bar 6. In deflating, the plug 9 is unscrewed and drawn out of the position shown, thus moving the bar 6 longitudinally and opening the links 5 to compress the sac 1. The plug 9 is provided with a plain extension 11 which always remains in engagement with the end of the barrel 3, to serve as a guide for the plug.
