Reservoir pens.-In a fountain pen of the nib-retracting type in which the nib is moved by the engagement of a guide-pin on the rod bearing the nib with helical and longitudinal grooves rotatable relatively to each other, this guide-pin g is located at the end of the vulcanite nib-bearing rod c remote from the nib and is suitably moulded, in one piece with the rod c, in the prismatic form shown. Fracture of the pin or rod is thus avoided should the user attempt to continue to turn the rotatable casing after the guidepin has arrived at the end of the helical slot.
