Abstract
256,814. Livsey, W. Sept. 30, 1925. Self-filling reservoir pens. -In a piston self-filling reservoir pen of the kind having an actuating-rod l normally housed in a tubular part g of the piston-rod, the actuating-rod is formed with a spiral slot or groove m which is preferably of variable pitch, and which is engaged by a lateral projection n on the part g. The end portions m<1> m<2> of the slot m are substantially flat and serve to prevent accidental movement of the two parts. The outer end o of the part l serves as an operating-handle, and as a closure for the rear end of the barrel a. A pin j in the barrel passes through diametricallyopposite slots h in the tubular part g to serve as a stop to limit the movement of the piston d. In modifications described in the Provisional Specification, a pin on the tubular part of the piston rod engages a longitudinal slot, having locking-means at each end, in the actuating-rod, and the actuating-rod is provided witb an enlarged screw-threaded part adapted to engage internal screw-threads at the ends of the tubular part.
