Abstract

Spray carburettors.-A bridge-piece e across the air passage i contains a fuel-distributing tube f in communication with the float chamber d, the tube being prevented from rotating by a pin p, held against its seat h by a nut g and 'removable to facilitate cleaning of the fuel passages. The tube and bridge-piece have fuel passages r, s, t which deliver into the interior of and are brought into action in succession by a throttle valve b. The passage r has an independent air inlet l, is controlled by a screw m and serves for slow running. The upper ends of the passages r, s, t may terminate in tapered grooves u, v of different sizes. For use with heavy fuels, the passages throughthe distributing-tube f lead in a modification, into annular grooves to which air may be admitted through passages in the lower part of the bridgepiece and further, the fuel conduit n is open to the atmosphere so that aerated fuel reaches the tube f.
