Abstract

Stopping, starting, tripping, and like arrangements.-Consists of a switch for use in controlling the length of travel of the reciprocating table in an electrically-driven matrix rolling machine, the switch being actuated through an adjustable mechanical lost-motion device. The switch b with operating, handle c is mounted on the frame a of the rolling machine, which consists of an electrically-travelling table d, which drives the matrix roller 4 through rack and pinion gearing. The switch-actuating mechanism comprises two disks 1. 2, Fig. 2, shaped as in Figs. 3 and 4, respectively, the former being secured to the extended shaft 3 of the matrix roller 4, and the latter being mounted on a loose sleeve 5 on this shaft, the sleeve carrying a chain wheel 6 connected to the switch by the chain e. A short rod 8 secured by a wing nut 9 is adapted to be clamped in varying positions along the slot 7 of the disk 1, and drives the disk 2 by abutting against an edge of the V- slot 10, the radial position of the driving-rod determining the point of power cut-off, and consequently the limit of travel of the table d. In a modified form, the disks 1, 2 are replaced by arms or plates having slots similar in shape to the slots 7, 10 of the disks 1, 2.
