Abstract

154,655. Ballentine, J. H. July 29, 1919. Locking nuts.-A key 5 arranged in a longitudinal groove in the bolt has the inner end 6 bent to engage a recess in the base of the nut or a notch or recess in a washer or a notch in the bolt, and the outer end is bent outwardly to engage radial grooves in the nut. The outer end of the key is bevelled or tapered as at 5 with the inclined face presented to the bolt so that a tool may be readily applied to the key to bend it.
