Abstract

128,880. Maseyk, A. E. W. March 12, 1919. Locking nuts.-The two parts 1, 4 of a divided nut have an eccentric spigot 2 fitting into an eccentric socket 3, and are normally separated by a space 11 slightly exceeding half the pitch of the thread. The parts are bevelled at 6, 7 to accommodate a split ring 8 formed at one end with a tooth 9. After the part 4 has been screwed home, the part 1 is given rather more than half a turn extra, which brings the faces into contact and forces the tooth 9 into the thread of the bolt. The toothed ring 8 may he omitted.
