Abstract

Locking nuts.-A nut-lock of the kind in which a split conical nut engages a ring formed with a conical recess, has, at the base of the cone E on the nut, a projecting lip D' engaging a recess E<1> in the base of the ring thereby connecting the nut and ring so as to allow relative rotation. The slot in the nut is preferably of T-shape, and the horizontal portion of the slot may be cut at right-angles to the bolt axis or at an acute angle thereto. A vertical slot may be made in the cone opposite to this T-slot, or a pair of vertical slots only may be employed.
