Abstract

519,963. Lock nuts. DEMETRIADES, H. J., and BAIRD, N. C. Oct. 25, 1938, No. 30787. [Class 89 (i)] A lock nut with two components one having an annular outwardly flaring wedge - shaped projection concentric with the bolt hole which engages rotatably an annular undercut correspondingly shaped concentric groove in the other part. The part 6 has an annular projection 7 which is provided with slits and the part 1 has a groove 2 with an undercut wall 3 to receive the projection 7. At the bottom, 4 of the groove is disposed a soft metal ring 9 and it may be formed with undulations.
