Abstract

Locking nuts.-A threaded locking-ring 16 lying in an eccentric recess in a nut is split at 27 and is connected through half its circumference to a head 19 of the same contour as the nut 13. The nut and ring are screwed up together and are then locked by relative rotation. As shown in Fig. 6, the ring 16 has two depressions 28 to receive projections on a separable head 19 or a spanner. Lateral screws or pins may be provided to retain the ring in the recess without hindering its rotation.
