Locking nuts.-In a nut-lock of the kind in which an annular tapered groove 2 is formed in the face of the nut, and the resultant thin sleeve 16 is split and forced into gripping engagement with the bolt 11 by the pressure of a cut ring 6, additional means are provided for increasing the grip. These means comprise a screw or screws 8 with a tapered end engaging one or both ends of the ring 6. In a modification, one end of the cut ring is bent at right-angles and passes through a cut in the sleeve 16; this end may be threaded to engage the bolt.
