Abstract

881,308. Locking nuts and bolts. UOZUMI, I. March 10, 1958, No. 7585/58. Class 89(1). A bolt 1 having a reduced diameter part 3 at the end remote from the head formed with axial recesses or flats 4 spaced around the periphery, receives a nut 5 having a thin cylindrical extension 6 around part 3. The free edge 7 of the extension is bent inwards to engage the recesses or flats resiliently. Part 3 may be formed by partial or complete removal of the bolt threads.
