554,555. Locking nuts. CATER, K. B. March 17, 1943, No. 4327. [Class 89 (i)] Self locking nuts have a conicalextension G with a cross slit C extending slightly into the body of the nut at E. The nut co-operates with a correspondingly curved washer H. When the material to be bolted is sufficiently thick the washer may be replaced by a countersink N therein. More than one cross slot may be employed.
