Abstract

154,522. Walker, J. Aug. 3, 1920. Spray burners.-A liquid-fuel burner comprises a casing A divided into compartments A<3>, A<4> by a perforated plate 7, air being supplied by a pipe 1 to compartment A<3>. The air, relatively large in volume, issues through the perforations in the plate 7 and is directed across liquid-fuel jets 2', mixing with the liquid fuel in the chamber A<4> and issuing through an outlet A<1>. More than one outlet A<1> may be provided. Steam may also be used for atomizing the fuel in some cases and the nozzles 2 may be interchangeable to suit different kinds of liquid fuel.
