Abstract

1532764 Master-slave flip-flop SONY CORP 28 Jan 1977 [30 Jan 1976] 03559/77 Heading H3T A master-slave flip-flop of a known type 1,2,4,6, 8 has an extra gate 13 connected from the output of the slave 4 to an input of the master I and operation of the gate either adds or suppresses a transition so that the output waveform from the slave is for the instant not at half the frequency of the input. This allows the output waveform to be shifted in time by an amount equal to the period of the input waveform. The circuit is used in PAL television systems. Preferably the control input I f is connected to an integrator 14, 15 to cut noise and this integrator is discharged by the control transition via transistor 16. An integrated circuit embodiment is given (Fig. 7, not shown) applied to the master-slave circuit of 1,461,443.
