Abstract
1399523 Colour television MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 12 June 1972 [22 June 1971 (2)] 27426/72 Heading H4F A PAL-switch in a colour television receiver is controlled in phase by the circuit of Fig. 2 receiving the received colour bursts at 11, the bursts being amplified at 13 and passed via a detector 14 and amplifiers 15, 16 to produce a rectangular wave output during each vertical blanking period, the trailing edge of this rectangular wave coinciding with the occurrence of the first colour burst following the vertical blanking period, the rectangular wave being differentiated at 17 and the positive pulses eliminated at 18 to provide a negative pulse coinciding with the first burst (at +135 degree phase relative to the B-Y modulation axis) following each vertical blanking period. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) the rectangular wave is fed to a NOR circuit (26) which also receives a signal derived by integrating the synchronizing signal, shaping this integrated signal and integrating the shaped signal. The output of the NOR circuit is passed via a differentiator and diode to produce an output signal as in Fig. 2.
