152,949. Crosby Steam Gage & Valve Co., (Assignees of Clark, G. H.). Oct. 23, 1919, [Convention date]. S a f e t y - valves.- A safety - valve of the kind in which the valve member is formed with a lip to form a " huddling " chamber is provided with means to obstruct the lip vent at relatively high valve lifts. The valve member A has a lip a adapted to co-operate with a lip f formed on a perforated flange K on the seat B. The apertures F in the flange K are regulated by a plate S secured into the seat and provided with an upstanding screen G having vent apertures II. These apertures are so shaped and arranged relatively to the lip a that, as the valve rises, smaller apertures are presented immediately opposite the edge of the lip.
