Fluid-actuated valves.-A valve device for use on fire extinguishing apparatus has part of its loading relieved by the act of coupling an air pump to the inlet. The valve a which co-operates with a seat c is formed on a spindle i carried by a diaphragm clamped to the casing by a member m which also houses one of the loading springs b. A lever f pivoted to the valve casing at n is connected to the valve spindle and to a bolt e which extends through the valve casing and is provided with a head e' adjacent the inlet a. A spring d presses on the head to give an additional load to the valve, which load is removed when the head is engaged by a coupling fixed to the inlet g.
