Safety-valves. - A safety - valve of the kind controlled by an auxiliary valve has the auxiliary valve 8 provided with a separate actuating member 9 adapted normally to rest on a stop pin 18 screwed into the casing. In the event of an abnormal rise of pressure the member 9 is raised into contact with the valve 8 and raises it against the action of a spring 11. This allows pressure which has accumulated in the chamber 6 behind the main valve member to escape through port 12 and valve 8 and so allows the inlet pressure to open the main valve 4.
