Feed-water, supplying and controlling.-Relates to a feed-regulator in which the feed-valve 37 is operated by the pressure of the steam generated in a chamber 31 containing a tube 27 in communication with the boiler above and below the water-level. The steam is generated in the chamber by the heat of the steam in the tube, and therefore varies in pressure with the water-le,vel in the boiler. The feed-valve is adjustably connected to the diaphragm chamber 36 or like operating-member. The valve spindle, and the stem 48 of the diaphragm chamber are adjustably connected respectively to rocking levers 46, 45, the frame 49 carrying the diaphragm chamber being adjustable laterally. The lengths of the levers may be adjusted by using different pivot holes. The chamber 31 is supplied with water from a reservoir 34 connected to the chamber by a tube 33 at the normal water-level therein. Water is supplied to the reservoir through a pipe 40, and the pressure is relieved through a pipe 41. The sides of the ports in the valve are so inclined that the area of the water passage through the valve increases, when the valve is opening, at a greater rate than the movement of the valve.
