Abstract

Roofs; roof gutters.-A roof is made of curved hollow or solid concrete slabs rabbeted or tongued and grooved at the ends and sides and jointed together by means of cement. The slabs may be reinforced and are supported on T-purlins A, whilst the cement joints are setting, when the roof being a complete arch becomes self supporting quite apart from the strength of the purlins. The whole roof is covered with a layer of waterproofed cement which is continued over the gutter C and ends with a drip G. The lower edges of the bottom slabs are grooved to fit over tongued springer blocks B. The blocks D supporting the concrete gutter C are tapered to allow a slope to carry off water. The cornice blocks E are recessed to allow the beams J a full bearing on the walls.
