Abstract

151,159. Reid, J. Sept. 30, 1919. Regenerators.-Tubular air-heaters for forced. draught furnaces are formed in separate sections 1, 2, 3 adapted to be joined, and having air outlets 15 so arranged that each section may supply one furnace or more than one, the sections being divided by horizontal baffles 12, 13 into compartments of diminishing depth, which are successively traversed by the air. In the arrangement shown, the outer furnaces 16, 18 are supplied with air from the outer sections 1. 3 of the heater, the central furnace 17 being supplied from all three sections.
