Gaseous-fuel furnaces.-The furnace according to the parent Specification is modified by dividing each of the recuperators f into two parts separated by the glass pit h, the two parts being accessible, as shown in Fig. 5, from the front and back respectively of the furnace. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2<a>, the glass pits hand waste-gas flues l are divided into separate portions, each connected to one part of the adjacent recuperator, by vertical partitions which may be extended upwardly to divide the crucible chamber e into four compartments.
