Abstract

194,602. Lambot, J. May 29, 1922. Regenerators. - Regenerators for furnaces are built up of tubular blocks A, B, Fig. 2, 3, 4, forming horizontal passages 5 for the heating gases surrounded by vertical zig-zag passages 6 for the air to be heated. The blocks are provided with three flanges 7, two of which are at or towards the end of the block and the other towards the centre. The central flange in the block A is provided with grooves 8 and that in the block B with projections 9. The blocks are assembled so that the flanges and projections on the blocks of one row engage with the recesses in the blocks of adjacent rows. Partitions 10 are provided between the flanges to separate adjacent air passages. Half blocks B' of modified form are provided at the ends of each row.
