Abstract

Limbs, artificial.-A device for attachment to an artificial arm and adapted to hold tools comprises a socket 1 made in halves hinged together at 2 and holding a ball 3. A stud 4 is provided on the socket for attachment to the arm and a stud 5 on the ball 3 for securing the tool. A bolt 6 serves to clamp the ball or allows free movement. In modifications, the bolt 6 is surrounded by a spring tending to press the parts of the socket apart and the ball may have an internally screwed stud capable also of retaining unscrewed shanks of tools by means of a spring bolt. The ball itself may be bored or the tools may have balls formed on them for engagement in the socket.
