Abstract
1446350 Transformer or choke G BACHORZ 21 Jan 1974 [27 Feb 1973] 2810/74 Heading HIT A transformer or choke comprises a winding and a core of at least one stack of iron laminations one stack being bent about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the laminations the resulting core extending around the outside and inside of the winding. Bending of laminations 13 is facilitated by notches 2, 18 and 19. The laminations are bent to embrace winding 20 as shown and are held by clamping bar 10 the edges 9 of which engage with notches 19. In a further embodiment a stack of T-laminations bears a winding on its upright and a stack of M- laminations is bent into a U to embrace said winding and engage the horizontal of the T (Fig. 2, not shown). Engagement is maintained by a damping bar (10). A non-magnetic insert (8) ensures an air gap between the upright of the T-laminations and the U-laminations.
