Abstract

1445356 Centrifugal pumps CHEMIEANLAGENBAU-UND MONTAGEKOMBINAT LEIPZIG VEB 27 Dec 1973 [28 Dec 1972] 59859/73 Heading F1C A centrifugal pump for conveying liquids with a high gas content comprises a disc having impeller blades 5, a series of apertures 2 in the disc communicating the inlet of the pump with secondary blades 3, the secondary blades extending radially beyond the impeller blades, and the apertures being formed such that their cross-section decreases the further they are out radially of the pump and/or their relative spacing increases radially outwardly Fig. 4, (not shown). A gas discharge channel 6 is located between the blades 3 and a discharge conduit 10 to vent gas separated out from the liquid. A throttle 11 is provided in the conduit 10. The invention may be applied to double-inlet impellers Figs. 3 and 4, (not shown).
