Abstract

1433385 Dormer window SOC ANON FINANCIERE ETERNIT 11 April 1973 [11 April 1972] 17409/73 Heading E1W A dormer window unit 4a moulded so as to have a roof 5, side walls and a front wall with a window 8 is mounted on a base 9b which is either integral with or fixed to a support frame 11, 12, 13 for fixing in a roofaperture and strips project from the base's periphery to co-operate with the roof cladding (e.g. by interleaving with tiles 10) to prevent the ingress of water. The unit and base may be integral and may be integral with the frame. Alternatively, as shown, different bases may be provided to accommodate roofs of different pitch. The said strips may be bedded on mastic and may be screwed to the frame at 14. The unit may be moulded from reinforced plastics or asbestos cement and may have a cavity wall filled with plastics foam.
