Abstract

142,742. Taylor, F. D. G. Oct. 14, 1919. Variable-speed belt gearing comprises a driving-pulley 3 operated by a helical cam 9 and a similar follower 4, which is controlled by the action of a spring 19. Each pulley comprises a pair of conical flanges 6, 7 of sheet metal recessed at their inner peripheries 16 so as to interpenetrate as one of them moves close to the other in varying speed. The flanges are supported by sheet-metal disks 20, 25 riveted to their unbroken outer portions.
