Abstract
1415722 Piecing in open-end spinning; time sequence of operations ELITEX ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI 23 Aug 1973 [30 Aug 1972] 40008/73 Heading DID [Also in Division H1] The time sequence of starting and stopping separate groups of operation elements in mass piecing on an open-end spinning machine is secured by a device for actuating a plurality of electrical switches in a predetermined sequence and at adjustable intervals, the device comprising a plurality of cams 26 rotatable about individual axes, the cams having lobes to operate the switches and being rotatable with respective gear wheels 23 which can be individually manually disengaged from, and turned with respect to, a common gear wheel for purposes of adjustment, the common gear wheel forming part of a driven component 141 of an electromagnetically operated clutch 141, 142, the drive ing component 142 of which can receive rotary drive from a source of motive power e.g. via shaft 22 and gears 21, 202. Upon starting or restarting the spinning operation the sequence of steps including reversing the withdrawing and winding elements to feed yarn back into the spinning chamber, feeding fibres into the spinning chamber, and reverting the withdrawing and winding elements back to their original operating direction, is effected in timed relationship. The switches 271-274 controlling the starting and stopping of the said steps in the sequence are operated on by cams 26 which are rotated by the gear wheels 23 engaging a peripheral gear 201 on the driven clutch wheel 141. The clutch wheel 141 also forms the armature of an electromagnet 17 and on operation of the electromagnet, a spring 19 causes a gear 151 on the wheel 141 to engage a gear 152 on the driving clutch wheel 142 which is carried on shaft 16. The clutch wheel 142 also has a peripheral gear 202 which engages a drive gear 21 driven from one of the common driven elements of the machine e.g. the winding cylinder 4. The relative positions of the lobes on the cams 26 are adjustable by disengaging the respective gear wheel 23 from the wheel 141 by axial depression of the respective knob 28 and then rotating the disc to the desired position.
