Abstract

141,525. Zephyr Carburettors, Ltd., and Copson, T. C. May 8, 1919, Spray carburettors.-A fuel-delivery tube C projecting into the mixing-chamber D is screwed into the bottom of a well B, communicates with the well through slots C<3> in its lower end, and carries a disk or washer F with a constricted orifice, the disk or washer being secured in place by a screwed tubular piece E. The well is open to atmosphere through a passage D<2>, and the slots C<3> are below the normal fuel level. The orifice may be controlled by a valve J and admits fuel to the well from the space G in communication with the float chamber. At low speeds, fuel is supplied from both the well and orifice, whilst at higher speeds the well goes out of action and air is drawn through the slots C<3>. The fuel tube, disk and tubular part can be removed and replaced as a unit.
