Plates, jointing pipes to; stuffing-box joints.- Engine-cylinder liners and valve-chests are secured by the joint described which is applicable to pipes in general. Fig. 1 shows a valve-chest secured by the joint which comprises a divided ring a recessed to receive a flange b on the chest. The ring rests on a shoulder d and is pressed home by a taper screwed ring c.
