Abstract

1341621 Reciprocating pumps H KRONSEDER 19 April 1971 [30 Jan 1970 6 June 1970] 20636/71 Heading F1A A pump for viscous substances, e.g. glue or jam, comprises a cylinder 1 disposed, in use, in the substance to be pumped in a container 24, and a piston 6 reciprocable in cylinder 1 between the position shown and an upper position in which it moves out of the cylinder, to permit entry of the substance from container 24, delivery being effected via hollow piston rod 8 on the downward stroke. A non-return valve 9 may be provided, or the piston and piston rod passages may be dimensioned to limit return flow. Cylinder 1 is supported by rods 3 which also guide piston 6. An air motor 2 drives piston 6, and has adjustable throttle valves for setting the piston speed. Container cover 22 is adjustably mounted on rods 3 by screws 23. The pump alternatively may be electrically driven.
