In a compressed air actuated pump the tail of the pump piston rod 21 reciprocates in a closed tube 22. The other side of the pump piston is connected to the motor piston rod 12 which passes through an intermediate chamber 13. The length of the chamber 13 is such that the portion of the rod 12 which enters the motor cylinder never enters the pump cylinder. The pneumatic actuation is stated to be electrically controlled and to have a fuel stroke device. The inlet valves 16 comprise flexible sealing elements 16a.
