Abstract

1288365 Reciprocating pumps ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLEICHER A G 4 Nov 1970 [15 Nov 1969] 52410/70 Heading F1A In a pump for viscous liquids, e. g. offset printing ink, comprising a cylinder 13 with a piston 17, either the piston moves downwardly out of the cylinder on its suction stroke for entry of liquid into the cylinder, or the piston or the cylinder has axial grooves for entry of liquid into the cylinder when the piston is in its lowermost position, Figs. 5 to 8 (not shown), delivery being effected via a delivery valve 14 which is either moved to its closed position by frictional engagement with the piston rod 10 during the suction stroke, or biassed closed by a spring, Fig. 5 (not shown). The pump is readily dismantled for cleaning and has a cylinder end cover 39 secured by a bayonet connection, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). Quick-release fastenings 2 and 9 connect the pump body 1 and piston rod 10, respectively, to electric motor drive unit 3, 4. The pump is mounted on a pressure plate 23 with a vent valve 25, and guided in ink container 19 by rollers 27 to 30 running on frame members 35, 36. A hook 38 supports the assembly for dismantling. Two pumps may be mounted on a common pressure plate.
