1341146 Spinning and texturing yarns BARMAG BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK AG 11 Feb 1972 [11 Feb 1971] 6485/72 Heading D1F [Also in Division B5] Thermoplastic material, in particular filaments and tapes, are heated and stretched, e.g. during or as part of a spinning or texturing operation by apparatus that permits the stretching ratio to be varied from one predetermined value to another during stretching. Preferably a low stretch ratio is used during the starting up and during the slowing down with a higher, main stretch ratio in between. In the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 1, the feed roller 8 and take-off roller 9 are driven either via gear box 1 at one ratio of speeds or via gear box 2 at another. Clutches are used to let the drives in and out. In other embodiments each roller is driven by an electric motor, the speed of which is preselectable.
