C. engine cylinders MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERK AG 2 Nov 1970 [6 Nov 1969] 51951/70 Heading F1B A cylinder block 1 provided with primary air or water cooling passages has at least one cylinder liner 6 with a major portion of its external surface in direct contact with the block. One or more annular cooling oil passages 10, 13 are defined between the block 1 and liner 6 at or adjacent the cylinder head 2. Inlets 11, 14. and outlets 12, 15 communicate with diametrically opposite parts of each passage 10, 13. The cooling oil may be the engine lubricant and a throttling member 16 controls oil flow to the inlets 11, 14.
